David Kappo is a graduate of the BA and MA Fashion Design programmes at the renowned Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in London. Following his graduation David was immediately obtained employment as a designer with fashion houses in Italy and the United States.
On returning to London and having worked alongside some of the city’s great designers including Alexander McQueen, David established his own brand, Dave and Joe. The label had great success for 8 years selling Menswear and Womenswear ranges to accounts in Japan, the United States and throughout Europe. Both David and the label have been featured in numerous fashion publications including Vogue, Elle, i-D, POP and the Face.
The Dave and Joe label showed the collection in London Fashion Week and was involved in several exhibitions, among them ‘Street Style’ at the Barbican in London and ‘My Favourite Dress’ at London’s Fashion and Textile Museum.
David’s career has spanned designer, fashion tutor and design consultant and, following a move to the media, gained respect as a television broadcaster, stylist and mentor. He has run fashion workshops and lectures in China, India, South Africa, Brazil and Taiwan and has much experience teaching International design students.
David is currently the Course Director of the Graduate Diploma in Fashion Design course at Central Saint Martins and Senior Design Tutor on the Fashion Design with Print BA degree there. He is also a Tutor on the MA Fashion course at the Royal College of Art in London.
